Assyrian relief of a Courtier: The relief is a fragment from a wall from Room B, the Throne Room of the North-West Palace of Ashurnasirpal II at Nimrud . Other reliefs from Room B are in the Ashmolean Museum , Oxford , the British Museum , London , the Iraq Museum , Baghdad , The Princeton University Art Museum, New Jersey, the Prince of Wales Museum of Western India, Bombay , and the Staaliche Kunstsammlungen, Dresden . Provenance: Acquired by a member of the Ludlow family in the latter part of the 19th century. Passed by marriage to another English family in 1907. |
